A word from Valérie

I have been a French instructor for over 20 years. 
My career started in 1989 as a junior instructor in London. I gave lessons in large organizations to businessmen who needed to master French in their day to day activities. After a move to New York, I became French Instructor at the Alliance Française, teaching a large variety of people interested in French for business purposes or for personal reasons.

These experiences taught me that, although a good command of grammar and vocabulary is always important, gaining confidence through regular practice and being able to express oneself in real life situations is a key to embracing a language and to finally mastering it.

At HNB Languages I do my utmost to make sure my students enjoy their lessons and improve their communication skills, whether in their business activities or in their day to day life.

Seeing them confident enough to order at the restaurant, try a new jumper in a shop or ask their way in the Métro is just as rewarding to me as improving their professional command of the language.
